Physicians do not know why some people are more sensitive to a specific substance than other people but they do know how the body reacts to allergies. However in the United States the most common treatment is over the counter products such as antihistamines and decongestants. In Chinese medicine, acupuncture is often used to treat allergies. Nasal allergies are very common in children, and appear to be getting more common all the time.
